The Lone Ranger

The Lone Ranger ... treaded a path of silence, searching for oneness, of closeness. So the lone ranger searched high and low for for a people he could run to, for sincerity, for all things pure.

What the lone ranger had gone through brought him to the level of being wary of trust. While the lone ranger was reluctant to step into this soil of entrusting, he was forced to believe with constant appearances, involving in their happenings and mishaps. He had those who kept him on a pedestal with a promise to be always there... with constant reminders a bond of trust was made again, then the times changed and all promises forgotten. Harsh words quickly replaced what was, keeping the lone ranger puzzled for what else could be as another took the pedestal, one by one.

He was forgotten, he was forgotten but it mattered no more. He knows that whoever came up with the term sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me could not have meant it when it came from someone given confidence. So it is better to look over words, to make them fly away, to disappear – this he knows, the lone ranger knows.

In sincerity he gave it all but he knows, he knows there is none in return. Broken, tattered, he was made to be used, to be raised slogans of until he was sidelined, to be forgotten, to be made a mockery of.

It hurts the lone ranger no more for it is a custom, and no more questions will he ask. No more does he blame himself for he knows there are cowards who will never be able to respond to him, for they will always keep the question lingering. He knows that closure does not lie in asking the question or getting the answer, closure is only to let go and forget everything, to make a clean slate. So the lone ranger wipes the slate clean again, yet again.

The lone ranger knows, he knows when he is used and when there are those who make a fool out of him, for he is but a meager spec in their eyes. He looks for answers no more for he has accustomed to the nature. For the lone ranger has realized, that all are individuals all will stay with themselves for all time and no one else. Everyone will come and go, what remains and always will is his self.

The lone ranger keeps treading a dusty path all alone, where time and again he comes across those who want to take him under their cover and make their own but he knows, he knows that it is only a timely affair and nothing else. The lone ranger shall keep treading, he shall keep treading.

  1. do differ in the sense, that this tells us that all our behaviors are materialistic and of short time, but nevertheless a good thought

  2. It is not of all, rather those who the lone ranger has come across - the time can be long or short, but it is timely - meaning it will change. Thanks for liking the thought
